JDRF GALA PREVIEW OF DISNEY·PIXAR'S TOY STORY 3

Dear Friends,

Please join us on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Pixar Animation Studios for the Gala Preview of the latest Disney·Pixar film, Toy Story 3. The net proceeds from this event will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

Tickets are now available for purchase online >>

JDRF is very important to us as our son Sam has been living with type 1 diabetes for more than seven years. Each day he is faced with the responsibility of managing his blood glucose levels with at least ten finger sticks. It is particularly difficult to manage during his teenage years. As parents we will do anything to ensure that Sam can live a strong and healthy life, which is why we continue to partner with JDRF to find a cure.

We invite you to join the race to find a cure for all people afflicted by diabetes. Attendees to the Gala Preview will enjoy an elegant black tie dinner, silent and live auctions, screening of Toy Story 3, an exclusive tour of Pixar Animation Studios and a dessert reception. It promises to be an unforgettable evening.

Please see the SPONSORS section for table sponsorship opportunities, or contact Kelly Craft (415) 597-6310.

We believe that JDRF, whose mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research, will find a cure for Sam and the millions of others who suffer from this disease and that diabetes will one day be a disease of the past.

Sincerely,

John Lasseter           Nancy Lasseter          Sam Lasseter

JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH FOUNDATION

JDRF is the worldwide leader for research to cure type 1 diabetes. It sets the global agenda for diabetes research, and is the largest charitable funder and advocate of diabetes science worldwide.

The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly, and can be fatal. Until a cure is found, people with type 1 diabetes have to test their blood sugar and give themselves insulin injections multiple times or use a pump - each day, every day of their lives. And even with that intensive care, insulin is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its eventual and devastating complications, which may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke, and amputation.

Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1.4 billion to diabetes research. The generosity of our supporters allowed JDRF to fund more than $101 million in 2009. In 2009, JDRF funded research projects in 22 countries throughout the world, including more than 40 human clinical trials.
